United Churches gathers for worship at 10:00 Sunday mornings (9:30am July and August).
You can expect to feel welcome, to hear the Word of God, and to know God's presence in our beautiful historic sanctuary. We sing traditional hymns, pray, learn, and laugh together. We are low on formality and high on community. You will discover worshippers from a variety of Christian traditions. You will find people dressed in their Sunday best and others in casual clothing. Wear what you feel comfortable in.
After worship, everyone is invited across the parking lot to Fellowship Hall for Coffee Hour. All are welcome to join us.
Communion is typically celebrated the first Sunday of the month. We celebrate an open communion table, meaning all who hunger and thirst for Jesus, are invited to receive communion. We draw on a variety of traditions for our communion service, which uses unfermented grape juice and loaves of bread. We also have gluten-free bread available.
God put the wiggle in children, don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. A church full of wiggling children is a church full of life. We both treasure and encourage their presence in worship. We provide worship bags with activities to keep our youngest worshippers engaged during worship. October - June children begin worship with the entire congregation and then head to Sunday School where they continue to experience the Word of God through story, crafts, music, and missions. On Sundays we celebrate Holy Communion, children remain in worship to witness and partake in the Lord's Table.
We are proud to maintain our historic sanctuary with two side aisles and traditional pews with their trademark swinging doors. The sanctuary seats approximately 300, including a balcony with seating.
Our building has 4 steps to enter the sanctuary. We are in the process of making our historic sanctuary more accessible, including installation of a new ramp. Please contact the church office with questions about our most current accessibility.
